(sign is now missing) Glen Alpine Springs Volunteer Programs "Saving Yesterday for Tomorrow" In the three photographs below, volunteers restore the one-of-a-kind Bubblestone Cabin designed by Bernard Maybeck built in 1922 with Richard Rice's patented aereated concrete. Disisintegrated by the 1970s, it was restored to its original condition -- with added protection to ensure its future. With a little help from our friends. That's how we can bring Glen Alpine Springs back to life.

So many ways to help Glen Alpine Springs Pathways need to be found and cleared. Foundations and buttresses of the Maybeck buildings need immediate repair. Visitors and friends could use a good tour guide. Docents stay in the Caretaker Cabin to monitor the facility and open the buildings for tours. Window frames, roofs and doors need painting. Envelopes have to be addressed. Mailing lists updated. Installation of good underground water lines. Replacing broken glass windows. Locating a reasonable commercial water heater, refrigerator for the kitchen. Hauling visitors in and out of the facility. These are just a few of the many projects that need to be done at Glen Alpine Springs. There are many, many more.
