Dinner at the Springs
Always the Third Saturday of July


There are usually three events at the "Diinner at the Spring" this year:

1. Wine and Cheese "StandAbout" (informal get together) at the Maybeck Social Hall and Spring, 4 pm to 6 pm
2. Tour of Glen Alpine Springs, starting at 5:15 pm
3. Exclusive Dinner in the Maybeck-Designed Dining Hall, 7 pm

Access to the Events at the Springs is limited to walk-ins only or by special arrangements by 4-wheel drive for those who cannot walk up the rocky trail.

Guests at the Wine & Cheese StandAbout gather outside the Social Hall (which houses the Interpretive Center) -- the site of most of the Glen Alpine social events of long, long ago.

Tours of the historic grounds and buildings will be small groups with Board of Directors and Friends as Guides. You will be able to see the locations of the original buildings of the 1900s, the newer 1920s buildings and step inside the existing buildings for a "look see."

Dinner is prepared in the 1922 Maybeck-designed Kitchen (with the old wood stove) and served in the hillside Maybeck Dining Room. An atmospheric gourmet meal will be served on china and linens and the original tables from the 1920s. After dinner there is usually short entertainment and gift(s) for attendees.

Guests are encouraged to wear period costumes reflective of the 1920s.

NOTE: Capacity seating is limited to 60 for the dinner, so make your pre-paid dinner reservations by June 22, 2002. StandAbout and Tours is not limited, but pre-paid reservations must be received by July 6, 2002.

Donations and ticket reservations are:

• StandAbout-- $30.oo
  (includes the StandAbout Wine Cheese and Tour, no Dinner)
• Dinner-- $200.oo
  (includes StandAbout Wine and Cheese, Tour and Dinner)

Attendance permitted only for prepaid advance reservations. Priority given to first-paid, first-received reservations.
